What is child care leave?

Child Care Leave means a leave of absence without pay to provide a period of time immediately following an Adoption Leave for a parent to care for a newly adopted child. To be eligible for Child Care Leave, an employee must have been continuously employed by the Board for a period of two (2) years.

How long does child care leave last?

Child Care Leave combined with Pregnancy Leave cannot exceed 6 months in a “leave year.”Entitlement to Child Care Leave will begin on the date of birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child and will end on the last day of the twelfth month following the beginning entitlement date.

Who is eligible for child care leave?

To be eligible for Child Care Leave, an employee must have been continuously employed by the Board for a period of two (2) years. An employee who is eligible for Child Care Leave may apply at the same time as a Leave or no later than sixty (60) days prior to the date the Leave is to end.
